The Community Within The Metaverse
September 23, 2022
As the metaverse emerges slowly into a public recognition, it is predicted to be a vital component in the future of socialization. The pandemic may or may not have contributed to the acceleration of these digital remarks, the effect of social distance brought the metaverse into significant use. While some believe that the hype of metaverse and or any other virtual space won't last too long once we start to get back to the usual non-social distancing era, some experts tend to think otherwise. As stated by pewresearch in 2020, 54% of technology experts expect the metaverse to be a much-more-refined and truly fully immersive, well-functioning aspect of daily life for a half billion or more people globally. And we’re just entering a new beginning of it.
Further look on metaverse
Metaverse was introduced to the public many years ago. Initiated as the immersive experience of virtual interaction, and once the pandemic started it develops to replace physical interaction. But now with the regulations of physical distance slowly getting lifted, how will the metaverse thrive through a fast growth of technology? Will people still require virtual reality that once replaced the social interaction between humans?
Quoting Keram Malicki-Sanchez; “There is no way to put the genie back in the bottle of immersive technologies.”
We have seen and experienced the convenience of the virtual world. And although it can never replace what exists in the real world, the virtual world extends your reality into many possibilities, and this includes both entertainment and business purposes while we step into the new era of the digital economy in which we can participate to create, buy, and sell goods along with the advertisement we need to boost the sales.
Metaverse on building a community
Metaverse is a big scoop of the virtual world. Even in this beginning period of the metaverse, we already have many worlds to discover. And finding one virtual space that serves your purpose will be beneficial for you. A strong community inside the metaverse will be one of the reasons users keep coming back. When users know that they can be involved in a particular space, it will be easier to collaborate and engage with them.
Let's take our recent metaverse collaboration with the surge as an example of a building community inside the metaverse. MyVerse is a place for KRL community to connect and distribute information on KRL topics including train schedules, events, and delicacies around the train station. This will hopefully serve the community of KRL users for a better purpose of connection.
